Wordpress Developer
Kreativa Group, a creative and marketing agency based in Miami and Los Angeles, is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in WordPress development, strong proficiency in modern frontend and backend practices, and the ability to translate marketing and UX objectives into high-performance, scalable, and visually polished websites. This role involves working closely with our internal team and our clients to build, optimize, and maintain websites that reflect Kreativa Group’s standards of technical excellence and help drive meaningful business results. Experience with custom themes, ACF, integrations, performance optimization, and SEO-friendly development is essential. This is a 1099 contract position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize high-performance WordPress websites and landing pages for our clients
- Build custom themes, templates, and plugins using modern development best practices
- Implement responsive, accessible, and SEO-friendly front-end experiences
- Collaborate closely with our marketing, design, and strategy teams to ensure builds align with project goals, brand guidelines, and UX requirements
- Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, analytics platforms, and marketing tools as needed
- Participate in technical planning, solution architecture, and sprint discussions; contribute ideas that elevate our development standards
- Manage development tasks (usually no more than two projects simultaneously) from concept through deployment
- Attend weekly or bi-weekly client meetings to provide updates, review work, and gather technical requirements
- Stay current on WordPress trends, security practices, performance optimization, and emerging technologies to keep Kreativa Group at the forefront of modern web development
Qualifications:
- US based candidates only, we prefer candidates in Miami, FL or Los Angeles, CA
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience, ideally within an agency environment
- Expert-level proficiency with WordPress, including custom theme development, ACF, CPT UI, WooCommerce, and Gutenberg
- Strong front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks like React or Alpine.js is a plus
- Experience working with hosting environments (WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways) and modern deployment workflows
- Comfortable with Figma and collaborating with designers to translate mockups into production-ready builds
- Familiarity with Shopify or Webflow is a bonus
- Solid understanding of on-page SEO, Core Web Vitals, and performance optimization
- Adaptable, forward-thinking, and open to leveraging AI for faster development and smarter workflows
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Passionate about building high-quality digital experiences and continuously learning new tools and technologies
